Why I Paint Big, Bright and Bold: The Story Behind My Art
Share
If you have ever stood in front of one of my murals, you’ve probably noticed one thing right away - color. Big, joyful, unapologetic color. I’ve always believed that art should make people feel something, and for me, that something is joy. A little escape from the ordinary.
As many of you know, my journey as an artist didn’t start with murals - it started with a deep love for creativity, expression and animals. Overtime, I realized I didn’t want to keep my art confined to a frame. I wanted to created something people could walk past, interact with and feel like they were part of it. Murals gave me that. They turn walls (and windows) into invitations to pause, smile and just feel lighter for a moment.
One thing I deeply believe is that we all need to reconnect with our inner child sometimes. Life gets busy, stressful and serious but wonder, imagination and play shouldn’t be left behind in childhood. Through my work, I try to create little pockets of joy to help people break out of the monotony of adult life, even if just for a minute.
My goal is always the same, to bring something bright and positive into the world and make at least one person’s day a little better because of it.
This blog is a new space for me to share more of that process, whether it be behind the scenes peeks, through to on public art and hopefully some inspiration along the way. Thanks for being here. I can’t wait to keep creating and sharing with you.
Stay bold and keep playing,
Molly
